1. Overlay Charts

These charts made of vinyl type materials and can be placed on top of the glass screen and clamped. They allow for easy inspection of projected images.

2. Edge Detector

The edge sensor automatically detects edges enabling the user to make accurate measurements irrespective of their skill level.

3. Work holding Devices

Workholding devices are required to hold the object securely when the gravity alone does not prove sufficient in orienting the object so as to bring its area to be explored into the optical plane of the projector. The different work holding devices can be categorized as under.

  1. Fixture bases – For raising the level of holding fixture and to locate it in controlled relation to the surface.
  2. Vises- For holding the objects to be measured.
  3. Clamping fixtures – Simple and double V block clamps. special part locating and holding devices.
  4. Rotating tables – with angle graduations, to orient the object to be inspected in different planes and angle positions.

4. Calibration Scales

Calibration Scales can be used to check the Length Accuracy and the Magnification Accuracy of the Profile Projector. For Length Accuracy, the X and Y axis are separately calibrated by taking test points every 25mm. However, for magnification accuracy, two different standards are required. A smaller standard (short glass scale) is placed on the work stage and its image on the screen is compared with a larger standard (usually the same scale used to measure length accuracy).
